Has Audi ever sent over their dual clutch on a plebeian A4 or a6 model(non-S or RS) car to the U.S.A.? Wife is open to replacing the beetle with a  bigger car/wagon (specifically mentioned an Audi) and I’d be open to getting an auto if I could bounce off the rev limiter if I please and get some quick shifts out of the manual shifting. I know I wouldn’t use manual mode much but I like the DSG in the transverse models(GTI, A3) but those are not much bigger than the beetle.

Manual Audi wagon for your help:

pretty sure they did.

keep in mind, STOCK audi mapping will not let you bounce it off the limiter. it will auto upshift.

a TCU (transmission control unit) tune however will solve that and will add launch control (stick over to tiptronic mode, foot on brake, foot on gas, build RPM, release brake and bai bai)

Starting in 2019, the A6 comes standard with the DSG. Before that, it was only available on the FWD model

I think the A4 has the DSG with the 2.0T

The current A4 2.0T has a 7 speed DSG. The previous gen B8/B8.5 was either a 6 or 8 speed auto on the A4, only the S4 got the DSG.
